How It Works
Step 1
Browse the available chargers, make your selection, and answer a few questions to confirm your program participation eligibility.
Step 2
Your site will need to be prepared to accommodate your chosen charger. The required preparation work and/or electric service upgrades may cost anywhere from $500-$2500, which you will pay directly to the contractor. If you would like an estimate for this work beforehand, please indicate this request on your application, and we will supply you with qualified referrals. Note: Filling out an application does NOT obligate you to continue.
Learn how to cover a large portion or all of the cost of preparing for an EV charger with Charger Prep Credit.
Step 3
A Duke Energy contractor will reach out to schedule your site assessment and installation date. Your charger will be shipped to the installing contractor.
Step 4
Once installation is complete, you will receive an email with program, troubleshooting and maintenance information.
